For a third consecutive year, AfriSam is putting concrete weight behind the Momentum PinkDay ODI to create awareness and raise much needed funds for the Charlotte Maxeke Breast Care Unit.
Since 2018 AfriSam has supported the fundraising efforts associated with PinkDay, by engaging its staff and members of the public with its own AfriSam PinkDay campaign.
As part of the AfriSam PinkDay Campaign, in a first for AfriSam, the company branded four of its Gauteng readymix trucks with the Proteas players dressed in pink.
Both years, members of the public were asked to spot a pink truck and share its location on social media. Participants stood a chance to win tickets to the PinkDay ODI. With every 6th photo shared, AfriSam donated R1 000 towards the Charlotte Maxeke Breast Cancer Clinic. To date, the ‘spot the truck’ campaign has received an overwhelming response from the public and over the past two years AfriSam raised in excess of R225 000.
As a leading construction materials business, AfriSam’s participation in this event is in line with our brand promise of ‘creating concrete possibilities’. The company’s goal is to create every possibility for proper treatment, facilitate awareness and more research on the disease as well as lend its support to those in need.
In 2020, AfriSam will once again support the initiative by Cricket SA, Momentum and Imperial Wanderers Stadium for the PinkDay ODI against England on 9 February 2020 to raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause. Together, we can make a difference.
